Zachary Orr absolutely broke out in his third year as a pro, after joining the Ravens as an undrafted rookie. He lead the team in tackles, and was in line to get paid a king’s ransom once he hit free agency. Yet despite a promising future, Orr abruptly retired earlier this year, to the shock of fans everywhere. Of course, no one could blame him for the decision he made, and it was undoubtedly the right one. Life comes before football.

Orr attempted to make a come back, but was turned down by 17 teams due to the high risk of him playing because of his spinal cord issue. Orr officially retired again, and you can read all about it from Orr himself on The Players’ Tribune.
