Whoa, Wait A Minute, Don’t We Win All These Extra Inning Games?

walk win

This is a Bullshit ending

What the hell happened out there today?  The Orioles win 17 straight extra inning games, only to have the streak ended on a bases loaded walk?  WTF!?  Frustrating to say the least.  As good as Johnson’s been, he just didn’t have it in his second inning of work, and Buck should have pulled his ass sooner.  I guess he wanted JJ to work out of it so he could try and save some bullpen arms.  Didn’t work out.  What’s worse is that the Birds had a great opportunity to win it in the bottom of the tenth, but Manny Machado was gunned at the plate after trying to score from second on a J.J. Hardy single.  It really wasn’t close, but I can’t blame the O’s for being aggressive in that situation.  Rajai Davis just made a perfect throw.

Speaking of Manny, it’s sure is a lot of fun watching him become a superstar.  He had two more hits today including a game tying triple.  That gives Machado 14 RBI’s on the season.  I have a feeling he’s going to be a fixture at the All-Star game one day.  I have to admit though, I would have liked to have seen Manny try and run over Arencibia during the play at the plate.

mm out use

Next time Manny, run his ass over.

You gotta love Nat Mclouth.  He is beasting in the lead off role and was on base 4 times today.  Two hits, two walks, an RBI, a stolen base, and three runs scored.  That’s a Rickey Henderson kind of afternoon.  Oh, and he’s batting close to .300 on the year.

This may sound stupid as shit, but Josh Stinson didn’t look that bad today.  Problem was, every mistake he made ended up over the fence.  I thought he battled tough and had decent stuff.

The Birds go on a brutal west coast  road trip tonight.  They gotta turn right around and play Oakland tomorrow night.

Big series in Oak-town starts tomorrow night 10 p.m. EST  Hammel (2-1) vs Parker (0-3)

Go O’s

  1. we gave it away by starting an unknown. should have started Tommy Hunter and then hit the bullpen for the last 4 innings.
