What Does a Ravens Fan Wear to a Redskins Game?

So while the Ravens are on a bye this week the Chode will be sitting front row in Landover as the Redskins take on the Bucs. Personally, I have no love for DC sports (I hate the Caps most of all), but with the Ravens sitting out and with a free first row ticket complete with food and booze, why not spend my Sunday at Fedex Field?  I’m sure I’ll be cheering my ass off for parlay bets and fantasy football stats. The real question though is, what the hell does a Ravens fan wear to a Redskins game?

My first thought was that I should throw on my favorite Ravens shirt or jersey, or maybe even my Cool Joe Charm City Wire shirt. But after a little more consideration I realized that may not be the best idea. Wearing my Ravens gear to a Redskins vs. Bucs game is the definition of being “Mr. Irrelevant”. I don’t want to be that guy. I heckle that guy every chance I get here at the Big Crabcake. That’s like being the guy walking around M&T Bank Stadium in a damn Detroit Lions jersey when the Ravens are playing the Steelers. That asshole didn’t just happen to have his Calvin Johnson jersey on that day- he made damn sure that thing was clean and ready to go so he could make some sort of statement that no one gave a crap about.  I’d love to show the Ravens pride, but it ain’t the right time.

Of course if you think for one second that I’m going to be rocking an RGIII or Alfred Morris jersey- you’re crazy. First row seats and a couple of cold cocktails isn’t enough to make me forget who I am.  I am Baltimore sports. So, beings that I don’t want to be, “that guy,” and wear my home team NFL jersey, the only sensible thing for me to do in this situation is to represent my Terrapins.  As much as I don’t like DC pro sports, there is one thing we as neighborly rivals can all agree on- the Maryland Terrapins. This is also the most logical bet anyway, because I probably won’t have time to sober up and change into my Terps gear from Saturday night’s prime time match-up against Mich State.  So Terps it is. Go Bucs!
