Welcome Back We-Win Chen

Just when the O`s were in desperate need of a win against the Rangers, Wei -Yen Chen returns and delivers a quality start like the UPS man delivering a package. Other than two hits and a walk in the 6th Chen, made seven innings of one run ball look easy. Hopefully that kind of starting pitching is contagious like the flu,and its a sickness everyone else in the rotation comes down with. Tommy Hunter followed Chen to pitch the remainder of the game. Tommy has looked great out of the pen lately and was no different tonight allowing only one hit over his two innings of work.

It certainly didn’t hurt that we were able to score six runs to support Chen’s great start. Machado, Jones, and Reimold all had multi hit games. The shot of the night was Nolan Reimold`s three run dinger in the 4th. Lets not read too much into one swing of the bat, but hopefully it’s a sign of good things to come for Nolan as we enter the second half of the season.

The Orioles and Rangers do game four tomorrow, and it’s a big one. After dropping the first two games of the series the birds have a chance to get out of this thing with a split. All and all it would be tough to complain about that given the poor performances in Monday’s and Tuesday’s games. Miguel Gonzalez (6-3, with a 3.63 ERA) will make the start for the Orioles against a Texas starter that’s being listed as TBD. One game at a time, but lets try and roll into to the All Star break feeling good, and I would feel great with another win tomorrow night.
