Just when everyone was under the impression that the Orioles had a new leadoff hitter, Dexter Fowler hit us with a wallop…
ESPN Dexter Fowler was an unexpected addition to Chicago Cubs spring training Thursday, as the team announced that the two sides had agreed to a one-year deal. Fowler’s contract includes a mutual option for 2017. The center fielder rejoins the Cubs after spending the 2015 season with them, batting .250 with a career-high 17 home runs and 46 RBIs. He also struck out a career-high 154 times. The signing comes two days after Fowler had been linked to a deal with the Baltimore Orioles. ESPN and media reports had said Fowler and the Orioles had agreed to a three-year deal pending a physical.
His time in Baltimore was short, and people are reacting accordingly… Never thought I’d see the day when the ‘MJ Sad face’ would represent the O’s.
