Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn passed away this morning at the age of 54 after a long battle with salivary gland cancer. Gwynn played all 20 of his seasons with the San Diego Padres, collecting 3,141 hits with a .338 career batting average. Gwynn was one of the greatest hitters to ever play the game, never hitting below .309 in a full season. His eight batting titles were tied with Honus Wagner for the most in National League history. He was a 15-time All-Star and a five-time Gold Glove recipient. Rest in peace, Mr. Padre.
