Thoughts On The Chris Paul Gender Equality Controversy

This is literally the dumbest controversy of all time. It shouldn’t have even been talked about. Here’s the “offensive” quote coming from Clippers’ guard Chris Paul after receiving a technical foul from a female ref in last nights’ blow out loss to the Cavs:

ESPN– “The tech that I get right there was ridiculous. I don’t care what nobody says, I don’t care what she says; that’s terrible. There’s no way that can be a tech. That’s ridiculous. If that’s the case, this might not be for her.”

I literally can’t even believe this is being talked about. He said nothing about a woman being incapable of doing the job of a referee,┬ábut rather this particular ref, that happens to be female, can’t do her job correctly. What would have made this quote less offensive? Should he have said, “if that’s the case, this might not be for┬áthis particular human being?” Is it really less offensive to just totally pretend she’s not a woman? I’m really in awe that this made SportsCenter and is being talked about. I guess this is what happens in between football season, and before Spring Training.

Chris Paul got fined $25,000 for this. The NBA is literally stealing from him. What a joke.

The only thing Chris Paul is guilty of is having just awful grammar.
