The Great Spicy Chicken Debate

So who has the better Spicy Chicken sandwich, Wendy’s or Chick-Fil-A? This question might be harder to answer than the age-old question of which came first, the chicken or the egg.  But I, The Chode , fear no tough question when it comes to food, so I decided to go out and do some heads up taste testing;  and here is what I, The Chode, found.

“Wendy on the Left, Chick-Fil-A on the right”

While Chick-A-Fil-A may have invented the chicken sandwich, my Boy Dave Thomas invented the “Spicy” Chicken sandwich at Wendy’s.  But now Chick-Fil-A has entered the spicy chicken world.  These two are both putting out a nice spicy chicken product. In fact, when we’re talking about the best fast food Spicy Chicken Sandwiches, it’s a two-horse race between these two world famous speed grub institutions.  It’s not even worth mentioning anyone else in the conversation, because they just don’t belong. So,  which ever one of these bad boys you decide to chow down on for lunch, you can at least know that you are chowing down on one of the two top rated spicy chicken sandwiches on the market.  So you got that going for you.

But I’m not settling for top two, I want to know which is the best.  I’ll admit, I went into this competition thinking that, hands down, the Wendy’s sandwich would reign supreme. Maybe it was me being  loyal to the Original Spicy Chicken, hell, it’s the only good one I ever knew until the Chick-Fil-A cow recently kicked up the heat on it’s chicken filet.  But I had to put my biases aside.  So I placed both sandwiches on the plate, shook away the old biases, opened up my mind, and dug in.  Once I sat down and tasted these world famous sandwiches head to head, the winner was actually quite obvious. Michael Buffer will type the winning announcement:

“Annnnnd the newww spicyyyy chicken heavyweight champion of the woooorld is….. the Chick-Fil-A Spicyyyyyy.

Sorry Dave and Wendy, the Chick-Fil-A is just, simply put, a better overall spicy chicken sandwich. It’s fresher, crispier, and most importantly, it’s spicier. It doesn’t light your tongue on fire, but head to head its got a lot more heat that than that red-headed Wendy’s chick; and isn’t the heat the point of a “spicy” chicken sandwich?  If you don’t believe me that the Chick-Fil-A Spicy takes home the belt, then do the taste test yourself. If you still disagree, the shots of Fireball are on me next time.  That’s how much I believe you’ll like the Chick-Fil-A product better.

They’re both good, but right now the Cow is kicking this read head’s ass.
