Terps Ready to Take on Hawkeyes in First B1G Homecoming Game

The bye week couldn’t have come at a better time for the Terps. After getting their lunch money taken from them  by Big Ten Bully Ohio State the Terps got a much needed week off. Now it’s homecoming game time, and Maryland is going to be ready to rock at Byrd Stadium on Saturday!

Iowa may not be the same type of power house as Ohio State, but at 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference, there is no doubt they are a solid squad. The Hawkeyes are looking to extend their current three game winning streak, and Maryland needs a bounce back win after the disaster that was their last game. This homecoming game is a big one for both teams. Its too early to start talking bowl games for the Terps. At the same time Maryland needs to win these close Big Ten games, as they will mean a great deal in terms of end of the season standings. There are some games like Ohio State, or Michigan State where the Terps will just simply be out classed, but this weekend isn’t one of those. Like I said earlier, Iowa is a solid team, but so is Maryland. This is a must win Homecoming game because of the fact that tht Terps can and should beat Iowa. Maryland is the better team and even Vegas agrees with Terps  at -4.5.

” C.J. Brown is Bringing his A game this week…..because he needs to!”

Besides the Buckeye game Maryland has looked pretty strong this season. The Terps team we saw in the first five games should be the one who shows up this Saturday at College Park. Quarterback C.J. Brown’s poor play last game got him benched for the 2nd half of that game. That won’t affect Coach Randy Edsall’s decision to start Brown this week though. While I feel that backup Caleb Rowe is the better passer and should be starting, Edsall will stick with 6th year man Brown, and that makes him our guy. We know Brown can run, but the Terps wide receivers are so strong. I need the dual threat quarterback Brown to get those guys the ball and allow them to make big time plays. I think Brown delivers Saturday and the Terps enjoy a huge win in their first ever Big Ten Homecoming game.
