Suggs Wants “Cool Joe” Flacco To Cuss Him And Rest Of Team Out

Ravens training camp has officially begun, and our always vocal defensive leader had a suggestion on how to improve our quarterback’s game.

“Joe is just ‘Cool Joe,’ Most of the time he’s not the most vocal.  But sometimes we may need that. He may have to cuss somebody out. He may have to cuss me out. It’s good to hear your quarterback get after somebody sometimes. I think it will be a good thing.”

I have no problem with Joe cussing teammates out, in fact I encourage it. He’s the man getting paid handsomely, and he earned it. I’m the last person you will ever hear bitch about Joe’s contract, because without him this team is not a playoff contender. But he’s got to be the team leader, and when player’s aren’t performing at the level in which he should demand, they need to be told. I do however think Flacco has more of that in him than given credit for, and Suggs wants him to let it out more often.

“He has cussed me out before, but Joe knows how to do his little subliminal slick shots. We’re looking for a little bit more direct. I’ve said it from the jump: We have a lot of leaders on this team.  I’m really looking forward to seeing Joe Flacco come into his own.  Be one of those premier, elite quarterbacks and talk to his team.  We’re definitely going to stand behind Joe, stand behind Haloti, and hopefully they all stand behind me.”

This seems like a direct challenge from Suggs, and I’d like to see Joe answer the call. But let’s not forget what Joe’s already done for this town, and if his way brings us more Super Bowls then what can we really be complaining about?

As Suggs said in the same interview, “At the end of the day, we love Cool Joe.”
