Steve Smith Is ‘Week-To-Week,’ Michael Campanaro To IR

So much for a nice, relaxing Saturday for Ravens fans. First, it was reported that Michael Campanaro was put on injured reserve with a back injury. The River Hill grad is a talented young player, but that dude can’t stay on the field to save his life.

Next, there were reports all over the Twittersphere from usually reliable sources that Steve Smith, Sr. broke four ribs.

But then, the Ravens released a statement refuting these rumors.

That hardly qualifies as good news, but it does sound less severe than four broken ribs. On the other hand, it’s kind of hard to take the Ravens word on Smith after they were so damn mysterious about Breshad Perriman’s injury. At some point during all these shitty developments, the Ravens traded a 7th round pick in 2017 to the Rams for WR Chris Givens. Givens only has one catch for seven yards this season, and his best season came in his rookie year in 2012. Givens caught 42 passes for 698 yards and three TDs in 15 games.

The Ravens already had a thin receiving corps coming into Week 4, and now, it’s looking more like an anorexic runway model. It’s going to be all hands on deck for this Ravens offense without Smith on the field. Not only will Kamar Aiken and Marlon Brown have to step up, but so will their running game and trio of young tight ends. The road from 1-3 to the playoffs just got a whole lot bumpier, babes.
