I had no idea where the first episode of this season was going to pick up. They opened up with Jax behind bars brutally bloodying and beating someone as a favor for Marilyn Manson. Some way to kick it off.  But as gruesome as that was, it had nothing on the final scene where Jax slowly tortures and kills the man he believes killed his wife. Before stabbing him in the top of the head, Jax was insanely smoking a cig and rubbing salt on this innocent Asian dude’s wounds trying to make him pay as much as possible for a crime we know he didn’t commit. Tough to watch, but you couldn’t turn away.

It makes you wonder, if this is how bad the punishment is for Tara’s supposed murderer, will Jax be able to deliver the same harsh fate to his mother when he finds out she’s the real culprit? Throughout this episode Gemma talks to Jax and acts like she’s done nothing wrong as she sits there while he thanks her for all her help. She’s certifiably crazy. That’s the only explanation. She killed her son’s wife and justifying  it to herself  that she did some greater good.

One of the best scenes of the episode was when Jax first returns to his seat at the table and delivers one hell of a speech. In short, what Jax said is that maybe the ideas he himself had to take the gang away from illegal business wasn’t the best plan, because that’s basically who they are. He also made it clear things are about to get crazy, and if you want to be a pussy, say so now.  Of course SAMRCO is fully behind Jax, and they are ready for anything. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for next week.
