I wish I could sit here and say I knew exactly what’s wrong with the Ravens. But there’s too many things wrong that it’s hard to pick just one. I think the number one problem overall is that there’s just not enough talent on this team, bottom line. Yeah injuries have really hurt last year and this year, but at the end of the day, even if all the injured guys were healthy the last couple weeks, are the Ravens really that talented on paper? When the Ravens step on the field, how many of those players are actual stars? Honestly, I think they have two. Brandon Williams and Marshall Yanda. CJ Mosley might someday get there. And, sure they have some guys who used to be stars who are now good players past their prime. Suggs, Dumervil, and Weddle come to mind. These guys still are solid and make contributions on a regular basis, but they’re no longer game changers. But at the end of the day, this team if full of players who fall between the below average to slightly above average range. A bunch of C+ guys. And a roster full of guys like that isn’t going to win you anything.
It’s obvious the Ravens became such an untalented bunch because their drafts in recent years have been pathetic. Absolutely atrocious. Since 2009, there have been three players who I consider to be game changing. THREE. In eight years. CJ Mosley, Brandon Williams, and Kelechi Osemele. The Ravens have drafted other nice players since then, like Dennis Pitta, Timmy Jernigan, Pernell McPhee, and Torrey Smith, among others, but none of them were home run picks. And obviously the jury is still out on the 2016 class. And sure Ozzie has gotten some good value with late picks in his career, but it’s been a long long time since Ozzie had a good class.
I’m not saying it’s time for Ozzie to go. He’s brought two Super Bowls to this town. But I am saying it’s time to start considering if the end should be near for Ozzie Newsome.

PS- If I have to hear John Harbaugh say something about “playing winning football” again I’m gonna lose my mind.
