Ravens Sign CB Brandon Boykin

After the devastating news that second year cornerback Tavon Young tore his ACL last week, the Ravens didn’t waste much time trying to find another corner.

Boykin, a former 2012 fourth round draft pick by the Eagles, was placed on IR during training camp with the Bears last season with a pectoral injury, and last played with the Steelers in 2015. He has eight career interceptions.

This certainly isn’t going to be a guy who can replace Tavon Young’s productivity, as Young was one of the league’s best rookie corners last year, and was likely only going to get better being a mainstay in the nickel this year after the Ravens signed Brandon Carr and drafted Marlon Humphrey. But cornerback depth is huge, and we all know how injury prone the Ravens secondary has been over the years, so getting depth at cornerback is always big for this Ravens team.
