Orioles Bats Heat Up and Buck’s Birds Blast Blue Jays

While it only counts as one win in the standings, it sure felt like Tuesday night’s 9-3 beat down of the second place Blue Jays was more than that. It was a statement game for the Orioles. The Orioles offense capitalized on a decent, but not  phenomenal, start from Bud Norris, and the O’s cruised to the win on the power of their boom-sticks.

This Orioles’ offense is capable of big things.  Hopefully, last night was an indication of how things will be for the rest of the season. What was exciting about last night was that the offensive production came from the top and bottom of the line up. In the 4th Inning Caleb Joseph and Jonathan Schoop delivered back to back home-runs.  Catcher and 2nd base are the two positions on the team that have left something to be desired at the plate lately and they came through big in Toronto on Tuesday night. Chris Davis, who isn’t even batting .200 on the season,  also added a home run in the 5th, giving him 18 on the year.

Every Oriole who had an at bat Tuesday night got at least one hit with Markakis, Jones, Young, Hardy and Schoop all having two hits. The Orioles’ defense and pitching has been carrying the ball club for the last week or two. If the Orioles’ bats can stay this hot like this, there is no limit to how unstoppable Buck’s Birds can be.
Lets keep swinging the sticks and take it Toronto again tonight!!!
