Orioles Agree To Sign Colby Rasmus

I don’t even know what to say about this one. It’s like yeah, it’s a good signing because it’s a minor league deal obviously with no risk attached to it, and the O’s being linked to Rasmus is a tale as old as time. But Rasmus is just another lefty who can go out there and it’s either home run or strikeout.

The move doesn’t really make the O’s better, it just gives them more of what they’ve built the franchise on for the last 7 years.

Realistically I don’t think Rasmus will get much playing time.  This move could just be Pedro Alvarez 2.0, but last years version. The one that didn’t play. It’s just frustrating to hear the Red Sox sign JD Martinez, Jake Odorizzi gets traded for a bag of balls, and were over here scraping the bottom of the barrel for a guy who walked away from baseball in the middle of last summer.

PS- first time I’ve been in favor of the O’s facial hair rule. Woof, look at that thing.
