North Korea Threatens a “Merciless Counter-Measure” Against America if ‘The Interview’ Movie is Released

BBC News – A North Korean foreign ministry spokesman said in state media that the movie’s release would be an “act of war”…The North Korea spokesman was quoted by the state KCNA news agency as saying: “Making and releasing a movie on a plot to hurt our top-level leadership is the most blatant act of terrorism and war and will absolutely not be tolerated. “He added that the “reckless US provocative insanity” of mobilising a “gangster filmmaker” to challenge the North’s leadership was triggering “a gust of hatred and rage” among North Korean people and soldiers. “If the US administration allows and defends the showing of the film, a merciless counter-measure will be taken,” the spokesman was quoted as saying.

I’m pretty torn on this issue. On one hand, North Korea needs to take a chill pill. It’s only a movie and we have a little thing called freedom of speech in this great country. Also, Seth Rogen and James Franco have already worked together to make comedy gold twice with ‘Pineapple Express’ and ‘This Is the End’. I don’t wanna miss out on a quality piece of cinema over North Korea getting butthurt. Here’s the teaser trailer for ‘The Interview’…

On the other hand, maybe it’s wise not to rile up these guys. It’s almost like picking on that weird kid in class till one day he snaps and drills you with a vicious left hook outta nowhere. Maybe it’s better to let sleeping dogs lie. Plus, if my house gets blown up over a God damn movie, I’m not gonna be too happy.

At the end of the day, I think that there’s a compromise that can be made to defuse this whole situation. All Rogen and Franco need to do is add a 10 minute highlight video of Dennis Rodman to the credits. Any anger that any North Koreans felt during the movie would be washed away by the beauty of Rodman eating glass and diving for loose balls. Everybody wins. Thanks, Worm!
