NFL Week 12 Picks and An Al Pacino Speech

Sports and Bets — November 23, 2014 at 11:07 am by

No frills, no chills.  Just picks this week and Al Pacino rallying his squad.  Because it’s rally time here at the Wire as the season kicks into must win mode…..

The Chode (Season 10-11)

Detroit @ New England

Line: NE -7

Chode’s Pick: Detroit Lions

New England is playing some good football right now and I get that, but the 7-3 Lions are a damn good team too and this one will be closer than you think. The Lions have a strong defense and are only giving 69 rushing yards per game. Calvin Johnson is listed as questionable but should play Sunday. If Calvin does play, he and Golden Tate are going to be too much for the Patriots to handle. The Lions defense will slow down the Tom Brady offensive machine and the Lions Cover.

Jacksonville @ Indianapolis

Line: Indy -14

Chode’s Pick: Jags

The Jags only have one win on the season, so it’s going to be hard for me to try and tell you why I think they are better than a one win team. They aren’t though. You are what your record is, and that makes the Jags pretty bad. But even bad teams cover- 14 is a lot of points. The Colts got a beat down from New England on prime time last week. The Colts may have a great offense but there defense is suspect. They are giving up 25 points a game on average, and 376 yards a game, which is the 24th worst in the league.  I don’t think the Colts lose this game, but I don’t see them winning by more than two touchdowns.

Babes (Season 16-16-1)

An 0-1 cooled me off last week, as I had hit 7 of my previous 9.  No worries, it’s time to get back in the black.
I’m taking Indy to right the ship and cover the -13.5 points at home against the turnover ridden Jags.  The last four times the Colts played the Jags, they won by scores of 17, 34, 20, and 27.  History tells us to lay the wood.
I also like Seattle at home against the Cards.  Arizona has been winning with a bit of smoke and mirrors lately, but that will not get them through the Seahawks at home.  I have Seattle winning this game by ten.

Seabass (Season 12-19)

I’m in def-con five crisis mode as even my crisis mode last week failed to do any good.  My three year old son is worse at picking football games than me this year- which is kinda ureal considering how bad I’ve been.  But there’s still time on the season.  Here’s three picks to right the ship.

Rams +5.5 at Chargers-  The Chargers offensive line has no shot against this rejuvenated Ram front.  Take the horns and the points.

Arizona +7 at Seattle-  9-1 and getting a touchdown against an overrated Seattle bunch?  Yeah I’ll take the touchdown.

Tampa Bay +4 at Chicago-  The Bears suck.  I’ll take the other suck team with points.

Packer -7 at Minnesota-  Nobody is stopping Aaron Rodgers right now.  Why would the Vikings?
