MUST WATCH: Japanese Zoo Does Zebra Escape Training, And Its Literally The Most Absurd Thing I’ve Ever Seen

Ueno Zoo in Tokyo, Japan held a simulation of a zebra escape, in order to train staff on what to do in the event that a real zebra ever escaped. Yumi Tamura, a staff member, played the zebra role, and was quoted saying “The zebra is an animal that easily panics. I myself felt panicky when acting it out.”

 

 

 

When I say this is my favorite video of all time, I really don’t think I’m exaggerating. This was a serious event, as unbelievable as that may be. The zebra actress was taking her role more seriously than I’ve taken anything in my life. This was a make or break for her career, and she nailed it.

 

Did they kill the zebra and haul him off at the end? Is that the solution we’re looking for? Aren’t zebra’s pretty mellow animals? I feel like putting a harness on it and walking it back to the pasture would have been a much more practical approach than to shoot it down in cold blood, but hey, CLEARLY these guys are the experts.

 

 

 

Totally underrated part of this video is when the staff member was so shaken up she needed to be resuscitated:
