Money, Power, Respect. NFL Week 9 Locks.

In the ebb and flow that is the NFL betting season, The Chode experienced a big ol’ ebb, while Seabass and Babes got back into the flow.  In fact Babes has been watching How Stella Got Her Groove Back all week in celebration of his 4-0 week 8.  But The Chode still leads overall and at the halfway point he’s a solid 18-12.  May the second half begin with a bang.  Chode goes first this week.

Stella and Babes are Groovin’

The Chode (Season 18-12)

I love a good underdog, but that love finally hurt me last week. I mixed some favorites in this week to help get back on track.

Tennessee @ Saint Louis

 Line: Tennessee -3

Chode’s Pick: Rams

We all watched the Rams in a tough loss to Seattle last Monday night. This week they don’t come up short, and they win outright at home.

Kansas City @ Buffalo

 Line: Kansas City -4

Chode’s Pick: Chiefs

Andy Reid and company let me down last week. I know they are on the Road in Buffalo but Ol’ Andy owes me one. Chiefs stay undefeated and repay their debts to the Chode at the same time.

Pay Up Reid

Atlanta @ Carolina

Line: Carolina  -7.5

Chode’s Pick: Panthers

Yes, Atlanta really is that bad. Cam Newton has turned things around  in Carolina and has the Panthers playing good ball. There going to bury the Falcons for good at home this Sunday.

Chicago @ Green Bay

 Line: Green Bay -10.5

Green Bay is 5-2 and in the driver’s seat of the NFC North. At Lambeau field Monday Night the Packers are going to make this game look like a walk in the park.

Babes (Season 14-12)

4-0 last week. That’s right folks, I’ve hit my stride. Two straight winning weeks, and I was all over the Fins last night. It’s press time Babes, time to make some real greenbacks. This week’s slate is ripe for the picking with three games that I love.  One has a contingency though.
Starting with that contingency game, the Buffalo Bills will win outright in Orchard Park this Sunday. Maybe I should say the Buffalo Bills will win outright if Thad Lewis is the quarterback. I’m not hitching my wagon to either Jeff whatever his last name is or Matt Flynn, but I’m taking the Bill if Lewis plays. Kansas City is very good, but they’re overrated. They have not played a team with a winning record all season. They just finished three straight games at home and they only covered once. Teams that play three consecutive home games, and then are favored on the road, are 12-26 ATS since 1989. Andy Reid is 5-9 ATS going into the bye week, and Buffalo is very strong at home. They beat the Ravens and Panthers already this year, and barely lost to Cincy and New England. Need one more piece of evidence, the Bills have covered 25 of their last 38 November home games.

I love the Jets this weekend getting six at home against the Saints. Stop laughing. The Jets got railroaded last week, it happens, especially when you have a turnover prone rookie quarterback. But the good thing about Geno Smith is that his turnovers seem to come in bunches. He has actually played really well most of the time. I’m predicting this is one of his better performances, enough to at least keep it close. Plus the Jets seem to win very other week, so this is their week. But seriously, Rex Ryan will have his guys ready to stampede through a brick wall and they will keep it close.
My best play of the weekend is, that’s right, our very own Baltimore Ravens. Coach Harbs isn’t fucking around anymore, he cut two vested vets because they weren’t cutting it. This is no bullshit time for the Ravens, who are on the brink of losing their season if they lose, and they will not.
As for the numbers, the Ravens have defeated Cleveland 11 times in a row, and Coach Harbaugh is 5-0 ATS coming of a bye. Since 2010, road favorites coming off a bye are a staggering 34-10 ATS. Ravens baby. They will make a statement in Cleveland and Jason Campbell doesn’t stand a chance.

Weeden and Campbell are teaching each other how to suck.

Seabass (Season 13-14)

I’m still treading water on the season even after a 2-1 winning week.  At this point even 2-1 isn’t getting it done.  I need a clean sweep, and I think I’ve got it this week.

Skins/Charger Over 51.  This is a no-brainer.  The Skins offense is pretty good and Philip Rivers is back to playing gunslinger. Both teams could easily score over 30.

Steelers +7.5 at New England.  I know, it’s difficult betting Pittsburgh, but money is money and the Pats are going to struggle against this tough and proud defense.  The Steelers will be up for this one and will keep it close.  Take the points.

Seattle -15 vs Tampa Bay.  They can’t make this spread high enough.  The Bucs are in shambles and the Hawks are coming home and ready to beat the shit out of someone.  Bucs are the lamb being led to the slaughter.
