Maryland Man Steals Tractor, Escapes Police

Jarrettsville, A drunk man who was seen driving a stolen tractor escaped police custody before being re-arrested police say.Witnesses called police around 12:40 a.m. Saturday to report an intoxicated man driving a tractor near the intersection of Phillips Road and West Jarrettsville Road in Forest Hill. Responding officers were unable to find the man. About four hours later police got a similar call. However, now the man was on a tractor and pulling a snowblower behind him. This time officers found the man in the 1200 block of West Jarrettsville Road and put him in the back of a patrol car.While police interviewed the owner of the stolen items Myers escaped out of the back door of the police cruiser. Police K-9 units and helicopters canvassed the area.
