Jonathan Schoop Hit A Titanic Home Run

The Birds hit five home runs tonight in their 8-5 victory over the Royals, but Jonathan Schoop’s homer was the piece de resistance. According to MLB’s Statcast, Schoop’s home run traveled 484 feet, which is the longest non-Coors Field home run of 2015. Michael Taylor hit a ball 492.8 feet in Colorado earlier this season, so I’m guessing that Schoop’s homer would’ve traveled roughly 10 miles in the thin air. What a mighty wallop.
