Harbaugh said he’d obviously like to have Anquan Boldin back but that’s up to Ozzie Newsome.

I like Anquan Boldin as much as the next guy, but I’m gonna say something that won’t be too popular. I think Anquan Boldin is one of the most overrated Ravens of all time. People around here act like he was the league’s top receiver when he was a Raven. But the truth is he had one magical run with Flacco in the 2013 playoffs, but before that, he was just an above average guy. He never had a single 1,000 yard reception season in Baltimore, the most TDs he had in one season is 7 (he only had 14 total in 3 years), and the most balls he caught in a year was 65. Those are far from impressive numbers.
All that being said, I completely understand why he was a fan favorite because he was such a likable guy, and I too would like to see Boldin back in Baltimore, because clearly he wouldn’t cost much money, he has past chemistry with Flacco, and right now the Ravens have zero possession receivers on the roster, despite talking about needing to address that this offseason. Boldin could be a guy who helps move the chains on third down.
But if Boldin does come back, don’t expect to get a starting caliber receiver, or you’ll be disappointed.
