Jeff Fisher, Mr. .500 himself, was asked in a press conference about the Patriots’ (who the Rams play on Sunday) running backs.
Jeff’s response, via WEEI:
“Well, they’re all different,” Fisher said. “I have a place in my heart for LeGarrette [Blount], because I gave him a start [with Tennessee], and I have great respect for him. He’s a big back, and he’s hard to get down. And as they rotate through, different guys play in different situations, and they do a good job with it. He knows where the ball’s going to go, and the guys are very, very disciplined.
“I’ve been impressed with Brandon and what he’s done out of the backfield. You’ve got to deal with him, in addition to Danny. You’ve got playmakers all around, so we have to play sound defense.”
It’s safe to assume that Fisher’s referring to Brandon Boldin, who has one carry on the entire year. So if he’s been impressed with that, it must have been one hell of a carry. And Danny? Danny Woodhead? He hasn’t been on the Patriots for a number of years. Danny Amendola? He’s a wide receiver. Either way, if Jeff Fisher is spending time preparing for a guy who doesn’t play and a guy who either isn’t on the team or is a wide receiver, I don’t care what the money line is, bet the house on the Patriots.
