How Pathetic Was The New York Crowd Last Night?

Okay, I get it, it’s the Yankees, and they’ve won over a quarter century’s worth of championships, so a Wild Card game against the Astros with no realistic World Series expectations isn’t something that you’d expect to be life changing in the Bronx. But come on. Last night’s effort by the New York crowd was embarrassing. They showed no life, and it was your typical stuck up New York crowd who probably got their seats for free from corporations.

The Wild Card game is great. I love that it’s only one game. It’s do or die, win or go home, and it feels like an NFL game. It keeps us on the edge of our seat for the whole game. I can’t even imagine how insane the Yard would be if Baltimore hosted one of these games. It would be pretty similar to how it was in 2013 in Pittsburgh.

But instead the Yankees’ fans put out a poor effort. That atmosphere should have been electric last night.

I mean, even the one guy in the stadium who cared enough to bring a sign looked like he wanted to lay down and die.
