ESPN Anaytics Say The Ravens Have A Better Than 50 Percent Chance To Make The Playoffs

The Ravens, as usual these days, are having another underwhelming, disappointing season so far, as they sit just 4-5, and three games back of the division leading Steelers coming off of their bye week. But according to ESPN Analytics/’, the Ravens actually have a better than 50-50 chance of getting into the playoffs.

Alright, so it’s not much better than 50-50, but honestly, given the way the season is going, I would have been happy if you told me they had a 25% chance to get in. Clearly they’re being given these odds based on the fact that this has to be the easiest schedule they’ve ever played. I’m not sure if that’s statistically true, but by the end of the season they’ll have faced just about every back up QB in the league, and seem to be catching breaks left and right, although they’ve only taken advantage of some of them. They’ve gotten breaks while facing the Browns and their QB carousel The Vikings without Cook or Bradford, the Raiders without Carr, the Bears with a rookie making his first road start, and will get the Colts without Luck, the Texans without Watson, and this week, the Browns again, the Packers without Rodgers. I mean, what the hell. I’ve never seen a team get so lucky with their schedule, yet the Ravens continue to let these advantages pass. The way the weak AFC is, the Ravens could probably get in with a 9-7 record, and although that sounds farfetched that they could go 5-2 down the stretch, ESPN is giving us a good shot.
