Crush Company: The Orioles Emphatically Take The Series In Detroit

13-3.  That was the score today as the Orioles smoked the Tigers.  Crush Davis led the way with three hits, two of which were home runs (26), and five RBIs (66).   Adam Jones joined the party with two hits of his own and another three RBIs (54).  As a duo, Davis and Jones have a combined 41 home runs and 120 RBIs.  Incredible.  Baltimore, we have two bona-fide superstars on our baseball team, believe it.

Nobody is safe when Davis gets going.  I get the same feeling watching him bat as I did watching  Eddie Murray bat when I was a kid. It feels like something dramatic will definitely happen when Chris is at the dish.  There is that great feeling of positive anticipation when Crush steps into the box, and the feeling that the pitcher is afraid of Davis.  When asked if Valderde’s split finger fastball didn’t split when Davis homered off of him today, Davis said, “It split, right into my barrel.” Fucking awesome.  When’s the last time the Orioles’ had swagger?  With Davis and Jones leading the way, the swagger’s back baby.

Home runs for everybody babes...

Home runs for everybody babes…

Chris Tillman got the win he is now 8-2.

Taylor Teagarden got into the act with an Earl Weaver.

Mclouth had three hits, Markakis, Machado, and yes, Ryan Flaherty, all had two hits.

The Birds have tomorrow off before travelling to Toronto to play the white-hot Jays.  Big weekend series.

Let’s go O’s!
