Chode’s College Football Picks: Week 7

Featured, Sports and Bets — October 10, 2014 at 10:46 am by

Coming into last week at 7-6, I was in need a of a big breakout week. 3-1 did the trick. After Syracuse screwed me for the second week in a row (Never touching them again), I went on a 3-0 run with Northwestern, Ole Miss and TCU all rolling. Now at 10-7 on the season, let,s see if I can stay hot.
Game 1: Texas vs  #11 Oklahoma     * Neutral Site/ Cotton Bowl   12 PM

Line: Oklahoma -15

Chode’s Pick: Texas

I took TCU over the Oklahoma Sooners last week, and am going right back at them this week with Texas. Texas may not be great this season, but they should be good enough to cover a large line in a Big 12 rivalry match-up like this.

Game 2: #7 Alabama @ Arkansas         6 PM

Line: Alabama – 9

Chode’s Pick: Arkansas

Like The Oklahoma game, I also went against Bama last week and I’m going to do it again this week. It worked, right? I don’t think Arkansas wins straight up or anything, but I do think this game will be similar to Arkansas’ close OT loss to Texas A&M.

Game 3: LSU at Florida      7:30 PM

Line: LSU -1.5

Chode’s Pick: Florida

LSU just got crushed badly by Auburn. LSU has also lost to a good Miss State team this season. The Tigers could rebound this week, but I think it’s more likely they come out flat after the 41-7 beating they just took. Florida gets a big win at home.

Game 4: #3 Ole Miss @ #14 Texas A&M      9 PM

Line: A&M -2.5

Chode’s Pick: Ole Miss

I guess I’m just doing over everything that worked last week, but I can’t not like Ole Miss. Ole Miss has earned the #3 national ranking, and as much as I like home teams in conference games, I think Ole Miss defies those odds and keeps up their winning ways.
