Chode’s College Football Picks: Week 6

Featured, Sports and Bets — October 2, 2014 at 11:14 pm by

Missouri came through big for me last week, but shortly after that win, Syracuse found a way to screw it all up. 7-6 on the season, and we’re starting this week off going right back to the Syracuse well. (Hopefully that dam well isn’t dry this week.)

Game 1  Louisville @ Syracuse    Friday Night 7PM

Line: Louisville -3

Chode’s Pick: Syracuse Orange

Syracuse can’t do me dirty two weeks in a row. Right?  The same reasons I thought Syracuse was capable of running with Notre Dame last week are the same reasons I think the Orange can cover at home this week. It’s a home Friday night, ESPN prime time game. Syracuse comes out pumped up and wins this ACC battle.

Game 2  #17 Wisconsin @  Northwestern  3:30 PM Saturday

Line: Wisconsin -8.5

Chode’s Pick: Northwestern

It’s tough for me to pass up a good dog. I’ll take 8.5 points at home in a conference game. Northwestern is coming off a big road win against Penn State and they’ll stay on track back at home this week. They won’t win outright, but I like the Wildcats to at least cover at home.

Game 3     #3 Oklahoma @ #25 TCU   3:30 PM Saturday

Line: Oklahoma – 5.5

Chode’s Pick: TCU

TCU is 3-0. While they haven’t really been tested yet, they are a top 25 team, and any ranked team is pretty damn good. This should be a very close game and given that, I’ll take home field and the points.

Game 4    #3 Alabama @ #11 Ole Miss

Line: Alabama -5.5

Chode’s Pick: Ole Miss

This game is just like my prior  TCU pick.  I’ll take the home team and the points in a tough match-up of two highly ranked SEC teams.  Rebels.
