Stadium Journey Magazine may not be a household magazine name, but it has one job in this world, and that’s to analyze stadiums, so that should tell you that this list is legit.
They just gave Camden Yards the number 1 spot in stadium experiences, making this the third consecutive year.
Some of their thoughts on Camden Yards:
The current Oriole Park at Camden Yards, opened in 1992, is a trendsetter in Major League Baseball. Prior to its opening, the landscape of professional baseball was littered with boring, multipurpose bowl stadiums. Now nearly every team in the league has a great baseball stadium. Out are lackluster parks and in are fan friendly stadiums designed for the optimum fan experience. If Baltimore had built a standard, boring facility, baseball may not look and feel the way it does now.
The magazine examined a wide variety of stadiums, and based its judgement criteria on a scale that “includes the food and beverage, the atmosphere, the neighborhood, the fans, the access, the return on investment and any special or unique features.” The stadiums were judged not only on the actual buildings themselves, but on the whole fan experience.
This list includes every type of stadium, from football fields to racetracks. Check out the full list here
