Stadium Journey Magazine may not be a household magazine name, but it has one job in this world, and that’s to analyze stadiums, so that should tell you that this list is legit.

The magazine said “History was made by Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Its opening changed baseball and the way fans chose to experience games. A fan will revel in its festival-like atmosphere while still enjoying the purity of quality baseball.”

The magazine examined every MLB park this season, and based its judgement criteria on a scale that “includes the food and beverage, the atmosphere, the neighborhood, the fans, the access, the return on investment and any special or unique features.” The stadiums were judged not only on the actual buildings themselves, but on the whole fan experience.

The stadiums of the Pirates, Cardinals, Red Sox, and Diamondbacks rounded out the top 5.

Around here, we’ve all known Camden Yards is the best baseball stadium in the world, and its nice to see the national stage recognize it as such. Oriole Park started a revolution of stadium building. It was the original, and it remains the best.

A couple of nice honors have been given to Baltimore this week, after Conde Nast Traveler Magazine named it the second most underrated city to visit in the county.
