“I am the man.”

Oh babes, life is good at the Yard.  The Birds, behind a beast of an outing from Chris Tillman and a lights-out bullpen, blanked the Red Sox 2-0 to take the first two games of this four game set.  Tillman, who continues to establish himself as a top-tier starter, allowed only three hits over six full innings.  He did walk four Bosox, but none of those walks hurt him, as the Boston club failed to move runners.  It was another quality start for this impressive young right-hander.

The bullpen was stellar tonight, despite having to pitch extended innings in Thursday night’s game.  O’Day, Hunter, and Johnson allowed only one baserunner between them, and that was a hit batsman by Johnson, who was erased by a game ending double play.  All relievers were extremely impressive, and Johnson’s pitches showed a ton of movement, which is really good to see.  I think his slump is officially over.

"No park can hold me, son!"

Chris Davis blasted a left field bomb on a decent pitch from Ryan Dempster in the 2nd.  He leads the league with 22.  When he’s hot he can hit any pitch, to any field, with power.

Adam Jones had the other RBI.  Combined, he and Davis have 103 RBIs on the year.

Manny Machado had three hits, including two doubles.  He leads the majors with 30 and is on pace for a record 74 two-baggers.

It was packed at the Yard tonight, let’s keep it packed all weekend.

4:05 start tomorrow, Lackey (3-5) vs Garcia (3-3)

Let’s Go O’s!
