The Run Down

Boom, babes.  The Oriole bats are hacking their way through Arlington, Texas this week.  Over the last two nights the O’s have combined for 30 hits and 14 runs en route to two wins over the Rangers.  Adam Jones, Nick Markakis, and Nelson Cruz on all on absolute fire.  The threesome is 15-29 with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs so far in this series.  Cruz is obviously on his Ranger revenge tour and Markakis is spraying the ball all over the place with power.  Jones has six hits in the series and is hitting everything thrown his way.  Frist pitch or 0-2 count, it doesn’t matter, Jones is on the pitch and his aggression at the plate is paying off big time in this series.

Bud Norris pitched pretty well over all, but he should just walk Adrian Beltre if he ever faces him again.  Beltre crushed two home runs off of Norris last night and was responsible for all five of Texas’ runs.  Bud only went five innings because of this and because of a comebacker that smashed into his right forearm.  It bruised almost immediately.  Hell of a contusion, babes.

Other Game Notes

Manny Machado had two more hits last night.  He seems to be coming around.

Nelson Cruz in now batting .319.

Chris Davis walked twice and launched his 8th home run of the season.  It was a towering fly ball that just keep on going.  Somewhere in the stands, somebody probably said it was too high. Crush.

The Birds turned two double plays, included a huge one in the ninth.  JJ Hardy is a hell of a shortstop.  Vacuum.
