In the third inning  the Red Sox had the bases loaded and I texted the The Chode and said that Wei-Yin Chen was a turd.  Next thing you know JJ Hardy’s snagging a sure double out of mid-air, then Chen and Wieters are turning a double play and the Birds are out of the inning.  Next thing you know after that, Chris Davis hits a hard grounder that finds a hole and it’s 5-3 Orioles in the 12th.  That’s what the final would be, and with Texas and Cleveland both losing the Birds sit just one game out of a playoff spot.  Oh and BTW, Chen battled his face off and is not a turd, in fact  he’s a bulldog babes.

What a game.  The O’s are playing good and meaningful baseball in September and it’s awesome.  It may have been the defense that deserves the most credit tonight.   The Orioles turned 4 double plays tonight and would have had a fifth if  B-Rob’s throw to first hadn’t been high in the bottom of the 12th.  It’s fitting, because the Birds broke a Major League record tonight with their 114th game without an error this season.  The O’s are also on pace to shatter the record for the least amount of errors in a season. This is the greatest defensive baseball team of all time, believe it.  That compliments the Ravens’ defensive legacy quite nicely don’t you think?  B-more pride.

Can’t play D? Well you can’t play for Buck.

Davis may have had the game winning RBIs, but the bottom of the order is what drove the offensive train tonight.  Markakis, Wieters, Valencia, and Roberts all had 2 hits.  Davis now has 134 RBIs on the year.

The bullpen was stellar again tonight, allowing exactly 0 runs.  Kevin Gausman in particular, was quite filthy.  The rookie struck out 5 of the 6 batters he faced.  Power babes.

Gausman = strikeout

But back to the defense.  The Orioles have a legitimate shot of winning five gold gloves.  Jones, Machado, Hardy, Wieters, and Davis are either strong contenders or locks for the award.  Mclouth and Markakis have had great seasons in the field as well.

This is getting pretty fucking intense.  The Birds go for the sweep tomorrow night with their ace on the bump.  Straight grindin…..

Tillman (16-6) vs Lackey (9-12)

Let’s Go O’s!

Remember the Clipse?  They was Grindin’ too.  The O’s anthem for the rest of the season…….
