Baby Sloth Born At National Aquarium. Who The Hell Knew A Baby Sloth Was This Damn Cute?

Aaaaaawwwwww, babes.  If you would have told me baby sloths were this freakin’ adorable, I would have scoffed at the notion, but this little creature is stunningly precious.  Felize is its name and the Aquarium doesn’t yet know if little fuzzy face is a boy or a girl.  (If he’s a boy and they can’t tell, I feel bad for the little dude, seriously.)  Of course Felize will become an adult sloth, so I guess it’s ugly ducking syndrome in reverse.

Felize is a Linne’s Two-Toed Sloth and he/she will spend most of its time living in the trees of the Aquarium’s rainforest.  These sloths are born for the tree tops and even mate and give birth hanging upside down.  Kinky.

Anyway, congrats to the momma sloth, Ivy, and to the staff at the aquarium.  Now they’ll have to deal with 2.1 million annoying tourists asking where in the hell the baby sloth is amongst the dense canopy of the indoor rainforest.  It’ll be like looking for Waldo in a warehouse full of candy canes.
