Green abused the Bears last week

Sunday was probably a close call towards disaster for some people, especially those who had Houston locked up in teasers, but the Texans pulled out the teaser cover.  The public lost on Philly, Chicago, and got edged out by a point and a half in the Saints game, and it seemed that more people were on the Niners than the Seahawks last night.  But no worries if you have a minus next to your total in the bookies notebook, we’ll fix that tonight.
I myself had a winning day with Arizona, Seattle, and the Green Bay over coming through. My losses were the tease that had the Giants getting 15.5, and New Orleans, who won but didn’t cover the number. I’m ready to push those winnings and double them tonight!
This game is actually a tough one to call.  Pittsburgh looked horrific last Sunday in a home loss to the Titans, but I don’t think they are as bad as people are making them out to be. They still have a very good defense and a top ten quarterback on their side.
Cincinnati dropped a tough one on the road last week in Chicago, despite playing a very good game. In fact Cincinnati was ahead most of the game. Andy Dalton was very good going 26-33, and AJ Green was nearly unstoppable as he abused Charles Tillman for two TD’s and 162 yards on nine catches.
The public is all over the Bengals but hold on here. Of course the public is gonna be all over the Hard Knocks team that, if all the games were played on paper, would walk away with the division. Let us not forget two big factors here. One Pittsburgh has beaten the Bengals outright 10 of the last 13 contests, and two, the Bengals are terrible on national T.V.  Under Marvin Lewis Cincinnati is 4-9 ATS on national T.V. That’s the problem with team, they don’t win big games. They win the games on their schedule that they’re supposed to win, and they lose to upper echelon teams. Now I’m not calling Pittsburgh an upper echelon team, nor would I really consider this one of those big games I expect them to lose, I’m simply saying that Cincy has to prove themselves to me before I go throwing cash at them.
I like Cincy to win tonight in a close contest by three or four points, making Pittsburgh the pick tonight plus the points. I also like the game to go under the posted total of 41 points. I see a tightly played game between two really good defenses. Cincy wins 17-13.
Some other quick supporting numbers; Andy Dalton is 0-4 ATS as a favorite coming off a loss, and the Bengals are 12-27 ATS their last 39 games as a favorite. Conversely Big Ben is 17-11 ATS as an underdog, and Mike Tomlin is 19-13 ATS coming off a loss and 4-1 after losing as a favorite. Take Pitt tonight plus the points and parlay it with the under. You can thank me Friday when you get paid by your guy and instead of slugging Natural Light you can enjoy a case of Sam Adams Octoberfest with your winnings.
