Absolute, Stone Cold NFL Locks. Week 9: Babes On Fire

Featured, Sports and Bets — November 2, 2014 at 11:25 am by

Babes belted out a 3-0 week and is on a violent, bookie bashing, roll.  It’s so Denzel, babes…..

Hopefully, the roll continues.  Gotta get some damn body over .500 in this wagering outfit….

The Chode (Season: 8-8 )

Philadelphia @ Houston

Line: Philly -2.5

Chode’s Pick: Houston

The 4-4 Texans aren’t out of anything yet. Three of Houston’s four losses were all to good teams (Indy, Dallas, and Pitt) and all were also within a touchdown. This is the NFL and homefield means a lot. Philly is 1-2 on the road this season. I’ll take the Texans and homefield advantage.

Baltimore @ Pittsburgh

Line: Baltimore -1

Chode’s Pick: B-MORE

Those of you who follow these picks know I try not be home team biased and take the Ravens every week. This week I just can’t resist. After a tough loss to Cincy last week the Ravens can’t afford to lose another divisional game, and coach Harbaugh knows that. Ravens win a tight one on the road in Pittsburgh on Sunday night. It’s always a good week when the Ravens beat the Steelers, isn’t it?

Babes (Season: 12-13-1 )

Hey yo, 3-0! That’s what I did last week with the Cards, Saints, and Skins all coming through for me. I’m ready to keep this Babes train rolling, babes. Once you tasted the filet, the salisbury just won’t do anymore.
I’m taking the lowly Bucs to cover the 6.5 points in Cleveland this weekend. The Bucs, who are coming off a bye, have played pretty well on the road this year, with the exception of that Atlanta game. They beat the Steelers, and held a fourth quarter lead in the Superdome before relinquishing it- they still covered. The Browns have the Bengals coming up next Thursday, so they will be looking past the Bucs. Plus in their last 23 contests as favorites, they are a meager 9-14 ATS. I ll take the points as the Browns will have to slip past the Bucs in a close one.
The NFL is licking their chops over another Brady-Manning Bowl. Somehow, the Broncos are favored by three in Foxborough. I don’t understand it, but I’ll take it all day. You’re going to give Tom Brady points at home? Is this a trap, or a sucker bet, as they are more aptly known? I’ll go by hard numbers and take the Pats and the points. Hall of Fame caliber quarterbacks are a staggering 33-7 ATS when getting points at home, and Tom Brady is 8-1 in such situations. Since 2003 he has only been an underdog 30 times and has covered 20 of those times. Pats win 28-27.
Seattle is going to pummel Oakland on Sunday. Fifteen points is not high enough, as I see this getting ugly early. No need to throw any numbers in here, as Seattle will be looking to get back on track- a blowout is imminent. Tease it, parlay it, lock it up around the world, Seattle blows out Oakland by three touchdowns.

Seabass  (Season:  10-12 )

I don’t like much of anything this week so I’m only playing one game.  Plus, after a rough NFL first half and a crappy Breeders’ Cup, my handicapping confidence needs a lift.  I’ll take a good Charger team going on the road to Miami and getting two points.  The Chargers had a mini bye after their Thursday night loss to Denver.  Rivers and company wil be rested and ready to take on a pretender Miami team.  Like the points in what will be a close one. Me, my money, and Philip Rivers’ punchable face.
