50 Cent Filed For Bankruptcy

Damn homie, in ’03 you was the man, homie. The fuck happened to your finances? 50 Cent was once worth $150 million due to his chart-topping hits and shrewd investments, including making a shit ton of money in Vitamin Water. But years of God awful music and poor business decisions has caused Curtis Jackson to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Here’s Consequence of Sound with the pertinent details:

According to court papers filed in the US Bankruptcy Court in Hartford, Connecticut on Monday, Jackson’s assets and debts range between $10 million and $50 million. Today’s filing comes just days after a jury ordered Jackson to pay $5 million to a woman whose sex tape he posted online without permission. The woman, Lastonia Leviston, has a child with Jackson’s hip-hop rival, Rick Ross. Jackson hoped to avoid the civil state trial by filing a federal bankruptcy petition for his boxing promotion company back in May. However, a federal judge allowed Leviston’s suit to go forward.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. It clearly won’t be enough to cure all of his financial problems, but is it too late to organize the Floyd Mayweather reading challenge? That’s the lock of the century.

Also, 50 hasn’t made much noise in the rap game in a long time, but Get Rich or Die Tryin’ will always be a certified classic and one of my favorite rap albums ever. Those first four tracks set the fucking tone like a runaway freight train.
